What you can expect from me
I bring all my own equipment and run my own sound (when necessary/appropriate).
I work independently and don’t need much support from staff — we are all working together towards the same goal: to have a successful night and earn a living, and I consider myself a part of the team while I am present.
I monitor my levels and control my dynamics. I understand that excessively loud music can drive people away and create an unsafe environment, so I take levels very seriously and make changes as needed, depending on context, my own observation, and feedback from staff.
I curate my sets to have a broad appeal and to be appropriate to the context. I have a wide repertoire and often engage with audiences by taking requests.
I generally don’t take set breaks. I find I lose my audience that way, so I don’t take breaks unless absolutely necessary, and then not for more than a few minutes. If I am scheduled from 7-10, for example, I play from 7-10! (or later)
